Reading Support

Reading Support (Kindergarten to Grade 8)

I provide targeted reading support for students who find reading challenging and for those who could benefit from extra reinforcement to become confident, capable readers.

My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, guided by a body of research known as the science of reading. I draw on these insights to ensure that my instruction is structured, effective, and responsive to each learner's needs.

I incorporate the five pillars of early literacy in my reading instruction to help learners become proficient readers. These five pillars include:

  • Phonemic Awareness: the ability to hear and manipulate sounds in spoken words

  • Phonics: connecting sounds to letters and patterns

  • Fluency: reading with speed, accuracy, and expression

  • Vocabulary: understanding and using a wide range of words

  • Reading Comprehension: creating meaning from what is read

Through individualized sessions, I focus on building each of these essential skills in a way that is engaging, supportive, and appropriately paced for success.

✨ My goal is to help every child develop the ability to read and the joy that comes with it.
