Meet Madame Michelle
Hi, my name is Michelle! I am an Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) with over nine years of teaching experience. I have taught students from kindergarten to Grade 12, but spent most of my teaching career teaching primary grades in French-language and French Immersion schools. After years of teaching in the classroom, I have recently decided to focus on tutoring students one-on-one.

In my free time, I enjoy running, playing soccer, doing yoga and reading next to my cat, Norah. ​

My Philosophy of Education
I believe that when learning is authentic, student-centered, and ongoing, learners gain the skills and the confidence to thrive.
Authentic
I believe that what students learn should connect to real life. By making learning meaningful and relevant, students are more engaged and better equipped to apply their knowledge beyond the classroom.
Student-Centered
Every learner is unique. I tailor my teaching to meet each student’s individual needs, interests, and goals. I set high but achievable expectations and create space for students to actively participate in their learning.
Ongoing
I believe that learning should never stop. My goal is to foster curiosity, independence, and a love of learning that lasts a lifetime. This begins with a safe and engaging environment where learners truly enjoy the process of learning.
I believe that all students have the potential to succeed and that it is my job as an educator to help them see this in themselves.
I strive to create a safe, supportive space where students feel comfortable being themselves; a place where taking risks and making mistakes are encouraged. Real learning happens when students feel free to try, stumble, reflect, and try again. Every mistake is an opportunity to grow, and I work hard to build trust with my students so that they feel confident stepping outside of their comfort zones. By creating an environment rooted in patience, encouragement, and respect, I help learners develop academic skills, resilience, curiosity, and a love of the learning process itself.
